Editorial policy & ethics

We do not accept sponsored placements. Our rankings are never influenced by which brand pays the highest affiliate commission, which publicist sends the nicest pitch email, or which company offers to pay for "featured" slots. The only thing that moves a product up or down on our list is the evidence — the published specs, manufacturer data, and verified-owner reviews described in our evaluation methodology.

Every page on this site that contains an affiliate link discloses that relationship in plain English. If a page contains no affiliate link at all, we do not pretend otherwise — our editorial content (guides, methodology, this page) is written the same way regardless of whether a click pays us.

The star rating shown on each product is a composite editorial score — our weighted assessment of the evidence, on a 5-point scale. It is not an average of customer reviews, it is not a measured lab result, and it is not a figure supplied by a manufacturer. The exact weighting is published on our methodology page. Because the rating is an editorial assessment rather than aggregated user reviews, we do not publish review counts or aggregate-rating badges we cannot substantiate.

We cite four categories of source: published manufacturer specifications, which we quote as documented facts; manufacturer manuals and data, used for warranty terms, certifications, and pricing; the patterns across verified-purchase owner reviews; and published third-party data and reputable independent testing, cited as such when we rely on it.

Our evaluations are research-based, not hands-on — we do not perform our own testing, measurement, or durability trials. Every claim is scoped to its source, and we never present a manufacturer claim or an owner report as a first-hand measurement of our own. When a figure cannot be sourced, we leave it out rather than estimate it.

When we get something wrong, we update the page with a correction notice and the date of the update. We do not silently re-edit published work to hide an error. If a reader, a manufacturer, or a fact-check flags a mistake, we fix it and say so.

BeachBliss holds no equity in any manufacturer, retailer, or distributor, and we do not accept sponsored placements, gifts, travel, or hospitality from brands in exchange for coverage. Because our evaluations are research-based, no brand can buy influence by sending product. Our only revenue is the affiliate commission disclosed on every page, and it never changes what we recommend.
